Listen to Caregivers for Compromise leader, Mary Nichols, discuss “Protecting Them to Death” with the LTCCC.

My mother, lived in Burlington, VT at a skilled nursing facility and was admitted to hospice due to a sharp decline in her appetite. She died due to malnutrition on July 23 of this year. The death certificate noted it was due to malnutrition due to Alzheimer’s dementia, however my mom never forgot how to eat or had difficulty swallowing. She died due to malnutrition from COVID isolation.
