The Essential Caregiver Movement is thousands of voices: families, residents, and grassroots advocacy groups, across the nation fighting to restore the rights of long term care residents with the designation of an essential caregiver.

We are not visitors.

We are their voices.

Over A Year in Isolation

When the world went into lockdown because of COVID-19, residents in long term care facilities (nursing homes, assisted living facilities, memory care units, independent living facilities and more) lost their right to visitations. They lost access to the essential people in their lives who connect them to who they are and advocate on their behalf. Many have died alone. Almost two years later, the lockdowns are still happening and we are still fighting.

The Essential Caregiver Movement is about making sure isolation from essential support never happens again.

We mourn the lives lost.

And we fight like Hell for the ones still inside.
